"Covert Cats is a browser-based multiplayer RPG inspired by classic games like EverQuest, Final Fantasy, and Zelda, with a healthy dose of absurd humor mixed in.

Players explore a persistent world, complete quests, battle enemies, discover hidden areas, collect equipment, learn new abilities, form parties, and take on dangerous dungeons together. The game is designed around exploration, character progression, cooperation, and the occasional ridiculous surprise. Unlike many browser games, Covert Cats runs on a custom-built multiplayer engine and was developed from the ground up as a persistent online world that can be played directly in the browser.

Covert Cats is built with Vue 3, Vite, Pinia, Bootstrap 5, JavaScript, and HTML5 Canvas on the frontend, with C#/.NET, SignalR, and SQL Server powering the backend. The game runs on a custom-built MMORPG engine rather than an existing engine such as Unity or Unreal, with Vue handling the browser-based interface and supporting game systems while the C# server manages the persistent world, multiplayer communication, combat, parties, quests, NPCs, equipment, skills, progression, and game-state synchronization."
